I have a timeslot today to go test drive/look at a 2016 Z06 3LT.

Oppo, let me know if you have questions to ask the salesman or things you want me to look at/take pics of.

Looks right, color’s right, tranny’s right, price is right, trim is right, HP is right, miles are right.

I’m just going to get in it and see if I hate it. I didn’t hate the base C7 and I know my wife prefers the Z06 - but she always likes the pricier thing.

I don’t plan on buying today, so I may have to show them a paystub or two to convince them to let me touch it. I think it’s been on their lot for a while.

Make the trunk closes properly some of the early ones didn’t come with self closing struts. At least that’s what the guy I work with that owns one says.

Check for scrapes and how deep they are. Any other mods besides shifter, tint, and wheels? Still under warranty? Be safe!

I’m guessing based on the year that the bumper to bumper is on its way out and only has remaining powertrain warranty. Carfax indicates that it’s already had 3 owners, which is saying something, but I’m not sure exactly what.

I thought the wheels were some special OEM trim, so thanks for looking out. I’ll scrutinize the paint but usually my wife is the one who is good at spotting those things (she’s out of town) and I’m not. My vision is based on movement.

The shifter I can live with. Knobs are easy to swap out, anyway.

Nice Price, I have seen mostly Grand Sports at that range. On the street, freeway how much more is that 650HP make you feel it’s actually worth it vs the regular 460HP ?

You’re right, the red stripe wheels are an oem option. Check to see if those are the original tires, might not be much left after 3 owners.

Z51 felt pretty quick in the first 3 gears. The base C7 speeds were technically similar to the IS-F, but the manual made it seem quicker than the numbers would indicate . I’m wondering if the Z06 will be balls-out-I'm -scared fast, which is what I am searching for. A bike would be cheaper but I would be killed immediately.

Ultimately, the HP will determine how I downshift and pass (and brake) on the highway, so that will be my focus for that.
